Which Mask Is Right For You?

Jul 27,2026 | allaboutalicia

We now have 4 masks in our collection - and we get asked regularly: which one should I start with? Can I use more than 1? What's the difference between the sheet masks and Collagen Wrapping Mask?

Great questions.  Let's settle this once and for all.

A quick overview - 4 masks, 4 different jobs

Mask Type Best for When to use
Aloe Vera Hydrating Mask Sheet Mask Everyday hydration 2-3x per week
Probiotic + Rice Ferment with Oats Repair Mask Sheet Mask Barrier repair, sensitive skin After stress, travel or over-exfoliation
Cica + Collagen Firming Mask Hydrolysed Collagen Sheet Mask anti-aging, firming, brightening Weekly treatment
Collagen Wrapping Mask Peel-off Gel Mask Glass skin, deep collagen infusion Weekly or bi-weekly intensive treatment

Think of them less as competitors and more as a team - each one has a specific role to play in your routine.

Mask 1 - Aloe Vera Hydrating Mask

Your everyday reset.

Who it's for: Everyone. Really. This is the mask equivalent of drinking a glass of water - simple, essential and universally beneficial.

What it does: Delivers a straightforward surge of hydration using Aloe Vera as the hero ingredient, calming and plumping skin that feels tight, dull or dehydrated.

When to reach for it:

  • After a long day in air-conditioning
  • When your skin feels tight or looks flat
  • As a mid-week pick-me-up between more active treatments
  • Great for first-time maskers - gentle, fuss-free, immediately gratifying

The honest truth: This is our most accessible mask. It doesn't have a complex ingredient story - it does exactly what it says, reliably and gently. If you are new to All About Alicia, start here.

Mask 2 - Probiotic + Rice Ferment with Oats Repair Mask

The barrier rebuilder.

Who it's for: Anyone with sensitive, reactive or compromised skin - or anyone whose barrier has taken a beating from over-exfoliation, stress, travel, harsh weather or a new active skincare product.

What it does: The star ingredient - Lactobacillus/Rice Ferment Filtrate - works to restore your skin's natural microbiome and repair the barrier from within. Oat extract soothes irritation, while Argireline peptide and Snow Lotus extract add a quiet anti-aging benefit in the background.

And yes - Snow Lotus.  If you grew up Watching Chinese period dramas, you already know 天山雪莲, yup that thing that the hero climbs an icy mountain cliff to harvest to save his dying damsel.

When to reach for it:

  • After trying a new retinol, acid or active ingredient that has irritated your skin
  • During or after travel when your skin feels stressed and unpredictable
  • When your skin is red, reactive or just out of sorts
  • As a weekly barrier maintenance mask if you have chronically sensitive skin

How to wear it: Apply bottom sheet first, then top sheet. Leave on for at least 20 minutes.  The sheet will gradually turn from milky white to transparent as your skin absorbs the essence - a visible sign it is working.  Pat in remaining essence and follow with moisturiser.

Mask 3 - Cica + Collagen Firming Mask

The anti-aging treatment.

Who it's for: Anyone noticing the early signs of aging - loss of firmness, fine lines, dullness, uneven skin tone. Also excellent for sensitive skin that still want anti-aging benefits, because the dual Chamomile and Cica keep this mask exceptionally gentle.

What makes it special: This mask uses a Hydrolysed Collagn Sheet - meaning the sheet itself is an active ingredient, delivering collagen into your skin as it sits on your face, on top of the collagen-rich essence it's soaked in. You're getting collagen from two directions at once.

The formula backs it up with a 7-botanical stack: Cica, Japanese Knotweed, Golden Chamomile, Roman Chamomile, Baikal Skullcap, Licorice Root and Green Tea - each chosen specifically to firm, brighten and protect.

When to reach for it:

  • As your weekly anti-aging treatment mask
  • Before an important event when you want visibly firmer, glowier skin
  • When your skin looks tired and lacks radiance
  • Alternating with the Collagen Wrapping Mask for a comprehensive anti-aging routine

Mask 4 - Collagen Wrapping Mask

The professional-grade intensive

Who it's for: This one is in a different category entirely - and it deserves its own explanation.

It's not a sheet mask: The Collagen Wrapping Mask is a cream/gel peel-off mask - you apply it like a face gel, wait for it to dry completely, then peel it off in one satisfying sheet.

What it does: As it dries over 20 - 30 minutes (depending on your skin and the weather - humidity matters here), it creates an occlusive wrap over your skin - an airtight seal that forces Hydrolysed Collagen, Bifida Ferment and Niacinamide deeo into the dermis.  When you peel it off, it takes with surface impurities and dead skin - but here's the really interesting part: the peeling action itself has a PDRN-like effect on the skin, stimulating the renewal and recovery at a cellular level.

The result? The "Glass Skin" finish - smooth, reflective, almost poreless skin that you can see immediately after peeling.

When to reach for it:

  • As a weekly or bi-weekly intensive treatment
  • Before a special occasion - this is your "event-prep" mask
  • When you want visible results after just one use
  • When you feel like giving your skin a proper spa moment at home

How to use it:

  1. Apply an even layer to clean, toned skin - avoid brows and hairline
  2. Relax for 20-30 minutes as it transforms int a transparent, flexible film
  3. Once completely dry, gently peel upward from jawline
  4. Apply Every Day Oil for a even better spa experience

One important note: Wait until it is completely, fully dry before peeling.  A partially dry mask will not peel cleanly and you'll miss the full benefit.

Can you use more than one mask?

Absolutely - in fact, we designed tham to work together. Here's how to think about it:

For a simple weekly routine: Use the Aloe Vera Hydrating Mask 2x - 3x a week, and one treatment mask (either Cica+Collagen Mask or the Collagen Wrapping Mask) once a week.

For a more intensive routine: Rotate all four
